About Us

Writers & Artists Week

What is Writers & Artists Week? With the goal of inspiring our students to appreciate various forms of the written word and artistic expression, this event showcases the writing talents of our faculty, students, community members, and visitors. Writers and artists are scheduled throughout the week to share their craft, passion, and experiences with our students and staff. Past presenters have included authors, poets, playwrights, song writers, journalists, film makers, and others who simply write for fun. This year we invite artists of every variety - photographers, singers, actors, performers, painters, sculptors, and directors to name a few.

During this event, various writers and artists will have the platform for about 40 minutes to share their craft, passion, and possible tips with the Niles North students and staff. We are looking for writers and artists who will share a bit of their work, excite students with the power of expression, and provide students with a window into “the real world.” Guests will not be in a teaching environment, per se; instead, Writers & Artists Week has a “TED Talk” approach. Presenters will also have the option to connect to students via LCD screens, a PC, and a great audio system. We hope you can join us for this enriching opportunity!
